Baltimore County Circulator “theLoop”

Baltimore County Circulator also known as “theLoop” is a new transit system that started in October 2021, providing free service through Towson, Maryland, with future expansions meant for the rest of Baltimore County.

Routes and Service

As of today, theLoop consists of two routes through Towson, Maryland: The Towson Orange Loop and the Towson Purple Loop. Both Lines aim to connect passengers from Towson to other parts of Baltimore County with high-frequency service. Transfers between lines, as well as Maryland MTA buses, can be made at Towson Circle. All bus routes operate every 10-20 Minutes from 6 am to Midnight on weekdays, and 10 am to Midnight on Saturdays. Service does not operate on Sundays.

  • Towson Orange Loop provides East/West service from Donnington Circle to SECU on Lasalle Road at Towson Place. The Eastern segment of the Towson Orange primarly operates on Joppa Road, while the Western Segment operates on Fairmount Avenue and Kenilworth Avenue.
  • Towson Purple Loop provides North/South Service between Towson Mall and Goucher College to Sheppard Pratt Health. This line primarily operates via York Road

Fleet

As of right now, Baltimore County Circulator buses do not have numbers, however, their fleet consists of 12 Ford E450 Cutaway buses with Eldorado Bodies, all purchased in 2020. They all wear a livery promoting the new “theLoop” service.
