
Pottstown Area Rapid Transit, or PART for short, is the primary transit operator of Pottstown, PA. Connecting with Boyertown, Douglass Township, Gilbertsville, Limerick Township, Lower Pottsgrove Township, North Coventry Township, Upper Pottsgrove Township and West Pottsgrove Township. PART is also the only public transit system other than SEPTA that operates in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It also provides service to Berks, and Chester Counties, but does not connect with BARTA services. or other SEPTA Routes.
Routes and Services
PART Operates 5 routes, all labeled by color starting in 2019, and all of which operate to the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center in downtown Pottstown, PA. Route 3 (Purple) and Route 5 (Blue) are the only two night routes (operating after 5pm) in the system. All other night service is provided by SEPTA Route 93, which operates into and out of Pottstown until 11pm.
- Route 2 – Green Line is a circulator line that operates via Upland Square, West High Street, Downtown Pottstown, and Conventree Mall. This line has buses departing from the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center hourly from 8am to 5pm
- Route 3 – Purple Line operates from downtown Pottstown to Hanover Court Apartments, North End Redners, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, and Sanatoga Village Shopping Center. This line has buses departing from the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center hourly from 6am to 9pm
- Route 4 – Yellow Line operates from Downtown Pottstown to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, North End Redners, and Pottstown YMCA. This line has buses departing from the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center hourly from 8am to 5pm
- Route 5 – Blue Line probably the most used of all the lines, the Blue Line operates from downtown Pottstown to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Sanatoga Village Shopping Center, and Philadelphia Premium Outlets. SEPTA Route 93 connects with this line on both ends. This line has buses departing from the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center hourly from 6:30am to 9:30pm
- Route 6 – Orange Line is a circulator which operates very similarly to the Green Line in serving via Upland Square, Downtown Pottstown, and Conventree Mall. However, unlike the Green Line, the Orange line also serves Valley View Apartments and Town Square Center. This line has buses departing from the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center bi-hourly from 6am to 4pm (even number hours only).
ALL PART bus routes connect with SEPTA route 93 in downtown Pottstown. Despite these routes all having numbers internally, the bus stop signs, destination signs, maps, and timetables, all refer to these lines as their colors. PART Does not operate on Sundays or major holidays.
SEPTA Route 93 also serves Pottstown. On weekdays and Saturdays, it serves only as a connector to Pottstown between 6AM to 9:30PM. Meaning riders can only board the bus outbound, or exit the bus inbound to Pottstown at those times weekday buses terminate at Montgomery County Community College. When PART is not running, between 9:30 and 6AM, SEPTA Riders on Route 93 can board and exit any stop in both directions. During these hours, SEPTA Route 93 also terminates on High and York Streets instead of Montgomery County Community College. On Saturday and Sundays, all trips terminate at High and York Streets, but on Sundays, riders of SEPTA Route 93 can board and exit any stop all day as PART does not operate Sundays.
As of June 24th 2026, the base cash fare for PART is $2.50, with transfers being $1.
Bus Fleet Roster
PART’s bus fleet roster is now exclusively Gillig BRT diesel buses. The numbering seems to circle between 51-59, although they currently operate just 8 buses.
