Route 90 Routing

Route 90 operates from Norristown Transit Center to Marshall Street, diverting over to the Norristown State Hospital, then goes back to Markley Street into Swede street. At this point route 90 crosses over itself, as it first serves Penn Square, then select trips divert over to East Norriton via Germantown Pike, serving the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, then back to Germantown Pike to Plymouth Meeting Mall. Every trip after 9pm does not serve Einstein Medical Center.

Route 90 Norristown History, 2005-2027

The most recent iteration of route 90 was created on October 31st 2005, replacing parts of route 95 and 97. This version of route 90 operated from Norristown Transit Center to Norristown State Hospital, then Penn Square, finally operating via Germantown Pike to Plymouth Meeting Mall. Throughout its history, there has only been one major service change on route 90, which came on September 4th 2012. This is when route 90 was extended to east Norriton to serve the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery.

In Summer 2027, Route 90 is supposed to be discontinued, and replaced with the Norristown SEPTA GO Zone.

Other Routes using the same numbers

The number 90 was previously assigned to a city transit division bus route that operated crosstown service on Walnut and Locust Streets. This route was discontinued on September 7th 1997 and merged with route 12 on the same date. Timetables for that version of route 90 are available on the route 12 spotlight page.
