Overnight Service
Since 1991, overnight service on the SEPTA Metro B Lines has been provided by bus. Between the hours of 12:30am and 5:00 am, trains do not operate, and instead buses operate via Broad Street with signs designating it as B1 Owl service, and making stops at all B1 stops. At 15th St/City Hall Station, buses are coordinated with the L1 Owl bus service, operating every 15 minutes. B3 Service ends at 9pm on the days it operates.
SEPTA Metro B Lines Equipment
As of 2026, SEPTA operates all Kawasaki B-IV cars on the SEPTA Metro B Lines with no immediate plans to replace them. These cars are all stored at the Fern Rock Yard between 11th and 10th Streets, and Nedro and Chew Avenues.
