Quote from: MillerRichard1 on May 08, 2019, 11:04:36 amIs this still being worked on? This is my first time commenting on this and I love what I'm seeing so far
I work on it every once in a while due to my schedule with classes and work.
I did manage to redo some of the cockpit(Dashboard, steering wheel, seat) and I plan on
working on it more this summer.

General Support / Where can I buy the Fishbowl bus?
April 09, 2019, 12:20:49 am
Hi Guys! Long time no see, still been busy with life as I now have 2 jobs and still going to college.

Anyway, I'd like to buy the GMC Fishbowl bus but I don't know how to get it.

Is there another way I can purchase it or just obtain it(If the developer allows it)?
(I Prefer to purchase it since it was a paid addon on Porais Studios and not promote illegal sharing as stated in VTC rules)

Whoops, I credited the wrong person for that. Let me edit that in real fast. It's a really nice mod too and adds to the accuracy of the bus!
No Problem! Your updated mod is great!👍😁

Well, I only made the bus model but not thinking of exporting it to OMSI yet.
It's a design I created myself. It's kinda suppose to resemble a japanese bus(Hino Blue Ribbon Transit Bus)
I'd like to make it in OMSI, but I'm still on my other projects.

Any progress

Sorry, I've been busy creating the textures for my ElDorado XHF Bus.
However, I'm gonna implement what I know from the XHF bus to the IC Bus.
Also, I've been thinking of using the New Flyer addon with the Powertrain mod as the base for both my projects.
Both my projects are built on the Gillig 35' Low Floor.

I figured thats what you meant but thats the issue im having at the moment , when i drag the CTA Logo and try to add it to the paint program with the D40 texture it doesnââ,¬â,,¢t ask anything and it just opens to a new paint page with just the logo itself and im stuck.

If you're using the Paint program included with Windows. Then on the top left side of the home tab there should be a button saying "Copy From"
Click it and just add the file. Make sure the logo is in a format that can be read on Paint.

Im Sorry What I Was Asking Was How Do I Get It On The Bus Is What I Mean?

In this walkthrough, I'm gonna assume you're new to creating skins for buses in OMSI.

I recommend using Paint.NET, so I'm gonna explain assuming you have it too. Unless you have an image editor with
similar features.

You'll want to go to your Texture folder of the New Flyer Buses

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2\Vehicles\DBC_Chicago_Citybus\Texture\Werbung\Templates"

1. In the folder, browse through it and you'll find the CTA skin texture file in the .bmp format titled "D40LF_BS.bmp".
2. Open the file with Paint.NET
3. Download the CTA logo. (JPEG, PNG or etc)
4. With the texture file open in the program and the CTA Logo open in the windows explorer, drag the logo onto the            program.
5. A window will pop up asking if you want to open it as an image or add it as a layer to the current open image.
Select to add it as a layer.
6. The logo should appear, if it's too big just adjust the size of it using the handle bars on the edges of the image.
7. After adjusting the logos, do the same for where you want the other logos at.
8. Afterwords, click Save As and save it as a .bmp file while the save window is open.
9. Before it completely saves, it'll ask you if you want to flatten your image(Because of the CTA Logos being added as        layers). Click Yes to flatten.
10. After it saves, close Paint.NET and go to the OMSI root folder
     "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2"
11. In the folder, you should see a program called: "RepaintTool.exe", Open it
12. With the program open, click "Convert"
13. A search window will pop up; Here you have to navigate to the texture folder mentioned earlier
Ex. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2\Vehicles\DBC_Chicago_Citybus\Texture\Werbung\Templates"
14. Once you're in the folder, select one of the .rpc files. The names of the files explain what details will be added.
Ex."D40_AdBoxes_NoFan_BlackSleeve.rpc"
15. After selecting, the window will pop up again asking to select which texture file to convert. Navigate again to the same folder and select your edit.(textures in the .bmp format will only appear.)
16. After selecting, it'll ask you if you want to convert it. Select Yes.
17. After it converts, go to the same folder again and you should see the file in the .dds format.
18. Copy or Cut the the new texture file and paste it in the "Werbung" folder.(Just go back one folder)
19. After it's pasted, open the "CTA.cti" file with wordpad.
20. With the file open, you should see something like this.
Ex.

***************************************
CTA
***************************************

[item]
Chicago Transit Authority - "Speedline"
farbschema_tex1
CTA.dds

[setvar]
decals_chicago
0

[setvar]
decals_main
0

21. Copy what you see above(the one in the file) and paste it underneath the first one.(Add a space between the two. See below this one.)

Ex.

***************************************
CTA
***************************************

[item]
Chicago Transit Authority - "Speedline"
farbschema_tex1
CTA.dds

[setvar]
decals_chicago
0

[setvar]
decals_main
0
                                                                        <-------------Like this!

***************************************
CTA
***************************************

[item]
Chicago Transit Authority - "Speedline"
farbschema_tex1
CTA.dds

[setvar]
decals_chicago
0

[setvar]
decals_main
0

22. Rename the titles to a custom name you want and add the name of the new file(See Below)
Ex.

***************************************
(Enter name here, like "CTA - New Logo") <-------------------Add a new name pointing out what's different about it.
***************************************

[item]
(Enter the same name from above) <-------------------Add a new name pointing out what's different about it.
farbschema_tex1
(Enter the name of the file here).dds  <-------------------Add the new name

[setvar]
decals_chicago
0

[setvar]
decals_main
0

23. Save the file(It's VERY important that the file is still a .cti file. OMSI will not take other formats.
24. Open OMSI, load your bus and find the name of your new repaint.

That's it! This same Knowledge can be used for most other repaint skins and as well as some of the .cfg files in the
sound, model and kinda script files(These are kinda harder.)

Does Anyone Know Where I Can Download A File Where I Can Replace The Chicago citybus To The Actual CTA Dot Logo For The 40ft And 60ft Hybrid As Shown In The Picture?

Here you go
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Chicago_Transit_Authority_Logo.svg

Though, you could have just googled "CTA Logo". That's what I did. :D

Comes with 14 Fixed Routes. Goes Well with FAX Repaint By ANIME AND BUSES.

NOTE: CHICAGO DOWNTOWN DLC IS REQUIRED! NEW FLYER POWERTRAIN MOD BY DASH5155 IS NOT REQUIRED, BUT RECOMMENDED FOR THIS .HOF FILE!

Enjoy!

Awesome!

Also, did you get the more accurate version of the skin?

Works best with C40LF CGas/Voith variant from the Powertrain mod by Dash5155

What is your OMSI setup?

I use a Wheel and Pedal set(Logitech Driving Force Pro)
It's good, but I'd like a wheel specifically for OMSI.
I kinda have an Idea to create a wheel set made to look like a bus dashboard.
But usually the ones I've seen online are custom ones made from actual dashboards, which is expensive to do.

I few problems I have with my wheel is that it only goes 90 degrees(Though it says 900)
, the wheel does that "Jump" while steering and sometimes I confuse the keys.

I usually just have my set in my room, but sometimes I'll move my desktop tower, keyboard and mouse to my
living room to play on the TV. And I just have it sitting in front of the TV and use a bench from my kitchen's table set to
sit the wheel on and move my computer chair.

What are your thoughts? What are your experiences with your setup as well?

General Discussion / What computer do you use?
July 18, 2018, 05:00:28 am
What type of computer do you use? And how is your overall experience with it on a daily basis and with some games?

For me, I have both. My desktop is from 2015 and it uses an AMD-10 Quadcore processor.
It works great for everyday use, and plays anime visual novels.

It struggles with newer 3D Games though, OMSI plays good, but lags on big maps unless settings are tuned.
The same is said with ATS and ETS2.

I bought my laptop for school specifically, but does it's job. Though I've noticed that my copy of Windows 10 lags where
a school computer with the same OS doesn't.

I don't even try to play ATS or ETS2 at all. However, OMSI does work but I don't use it for playing. I just use it for my projects.

Note: Be sure to also check out my other poll, info about why will be in it.

Hey Everybody! Sorry for not updating the topic for a while, been busy working on my mods, and Life.
Especially since today I'm got my driver's license! Yay!

So this is kinda a small update, I've mostly been working on the 35' foot model since it's the model that is already in OMSI. Therefore, my progress is mostly creating the UV Maps, tracing them on Paint.NET, coloring them, doing my best at shading, and exporting the models for OMSI.

On the 35' model, I created the textures for the exterior, interior, cockpit and front doors. I also lowered my bus model,
which took a long time doing as I had to save each part as a new file with the new height. And because of that, I'm also gonna have to make the wheels a bit smaller as they now look too large.

Hey looking good!

Thanks :)
