This just out of curiosity. I know and have seen content for sell by private developers on the net (not by
the Official OMSI). Are there plans to add a payware section for private developers in the future? I think it should be considered as it would help increase "foot" traffic here and also make profits that can be used to further develop this sight to much larger endeavors.
It doesn't hurt to ask or give input

Well there are no payware developers active on this site, so it would essentially be a dead deal before it even starts.

Besides, downloads and hits aren't really a problem on this site. If anything I had to take measures to REDUCE the number of downloads by forcing people to log in to acquire them. This site can get anywhere from 400 to 2000 hits in one day, which for a small community is a L O T.

The only area this site lacks in is really the human interaction. People come on, get their downloads, and leave. No post that says "I was here," no "thank you for the download" no none of that. So It doesn't actually FEEL like up to 2000 people are here on any given day. A section with more downloads wouldn't exactly change that tbh.

But again, it wouldn't even matter because no payware developers are active on this site. Getting the software to allow such a thing costs money that would end up being a waste if no one would even use it. As of right now, I am the only active developer on this site. All the others have moved elsewhere.

We understand your curiosity but in regards to private devs (offering freeware or payware products), having a section here dedicated to them is like (IMHO) telling them to not upload new "product content" on their own website(s) and instead put it here just for - how you say - more foot traffic.

Speaking of devs, there's not too many left - active - anywhere.  If so, chances are they may be doing things other than at least OMSI content.

My two cents on the matter.
