Active Routes and Management

The Cayuga USA fleet is maintained within 6 depots and spans across 4 different agencies.

CANTA (Cayuga and Northern Transportation Authority

Cayuga and Northern Transportation Authority, or CANTA for short, is the agency that serves Cayuga City, Darrah Peak, and Darradale. CANTA also has routes that operate to Keystone City, Lakeland, and Tremont, though those are normally served by other agencies. The Fleet itself consists of a wide variety of vehicles, from 29 to 60 feet, with a variety of hybrids, articulates, and highway coaches. On top of local buses, CANTA also operates three special types of services:

  • Loop Through University City or LUCY for short is two circulators (both under route 316) which operates within University City. LUCY buses all terminate at 30th Street Station
  • Direct Bus are special buses with very limited stops, which operate in densely populated areas at higher speeds. Direct buses are numbered within the 300 series, and use specially branded buses.
  • Commuter Express is non-stop express service which operates from Cayuga City to one of many suburban destinations. These buses are numbered in the 100 series, with the exception of the 124/125 which operate as a hybrid express and local line.

With all this in mind, CANTA is the largest agency in Cayuga State.
