NJ Transit Buses Return to Greyhound Terminal Philadelphia

NJ Transit returning to Philadelphia Greyhound Terminal September 5th

Starting September 5th 2026, NJ Transit Routes 313, 315, 317, and 551, will terminate at the PPA Transportation Center (Formerly the Greyhound Terminal) located on Filbert Street between 10th and 11th Street in Philadelphia.

NJ Transit says going inbound to Philadelphia, passengers can also request stops at the following stops in the city of Philadelphia

  • 6th Street at Race Street
  • Market Street at 7th Street
  • Market Street at 8th Street
  • Market Street at 9th Street
  • Market Street at 10th Street
  • PPA Transportation Center

However outbound riders FROM Philadelphia can only board at the PPA Transportation Center, and must have a valid ticket prior to boarding, as cash will not be accepted onboard.

These routes originally ran into the Greyhound terminal until February 28th 2022, when NJ Transit pulled buses out of the terminal due to safety concerns with the layout of the terminal. NJ Transit truncated these routes, making them terminate instead at Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, and having riders transfer to other services into Philadelphia. This decision was ultimately changed, and instead these routes would run into Philadelphia, but would either do the local loop via Market, Broad, and Vine Streets, or operate to 30th Street Station.

The Greyhound Terminal initially closed June 23rd 2023, and all Greyhound operations was moved to 6th and Market Streets in Philadelphia, before being moved again to Front and Spring Garden Streets. During this time, NJ Transit buses would continue operating their respective routes instead of following the Greyhound operations to their new locations.

On May 1st 2026, the Philadelphia Greyhound terminal re-opened paid for and operated by the Philadelphia Parking Authority, or PPA, with Greyhound and Flixbus service immediately serving there. The Greyhound Terminal was re-named PPA Transportation Center to reflect the new ownership.

Starting September 5th 2026, NJ Transit service will also be returning to the now named PPA Transportation Center.
