
Tonight, on January 14th, 2021 at 11:20 pm, an MTA Articulated Bus was reported to be hanging over an overpass in the Bronx.
The articulation bend on this bus appears to be completely broken, and the entire front half of this bus is hanging over while the rear is still on the overpass.
No word on the cause of this event, or if there are any injuries, but hopefully all involved are safe.
UPDATE January 15th, 2021 at 8:42 pm: There were 8 reported injuries on this bus, which was in service along route Bx35 at the time. Accordingly, the bus was going 15-22 miles per hour while taking a turn but should’ve been going 3-4mph. None of the injuries was life-threatening, and all involved are recovering, but the investigation is ongoing. For those who need to know, the bus involved was MTA New Flyer XN60 #1020
